Can I add another search engine?
Yes, you can configure the SDL MultiTerm Widget to access other search engines or online dictionaries. The specification of how to do this is available on SDL OpenExchange

Is the SDL MultiTerm Widget difficult to configure?
No, not at all. It is designed for very easy use, not only for language experts or power users of terminology for but anyone in a company who wants to look up a word.

What’s the difference between SDL MultiTerm Online and the SDL MultiTerm Widget?
SDL MultiTerm Online is a browser-based application, enabled not only for looking up terminology but also editing data:

·         No software installation required

·         Read-Write, including termbase maintenance features such as export and import

·         Only for server termbases, not local data

·         More steps required to quickly look up a term

SDL MultiTerm Widget is Windows application, focused on ease-of-use:

·         Software installation required

·         Read-only (at this stage)

·         Support for local and remote termbases

·         Extremely quick access to data

·         Support for other Internet search engines and online dictionaries

 

Does the SDL MultiTerm Widget work externally, outside of the organization?
Yes, much in the same way that SDL MultiTerm Online can be made accessible to external sites, SDL MultiTerm Widget can be installed externally and access an SDL MultiTerm Server termbase elsewhere.

Does it work offline?
Yes, you can connect to local termbases that do not require an Internet connection to be searched.

Can I edit my terminology?
No. At this stage, you are only able to search for words in the termbase.

Does it work with remote termbases?
Yes, even with multiple SDL MultiTerm Server-based termbases.

Does it work on the Internet or only in LANs?
It work in both intranets and the Internet.
