It includes new support for new Microsoft® Office® 2007 formats, both using Microsoft® Word as an editor and TagEditor. Additional filters for binary PPT, XLIFF and RegEx have been added to supplement its already comprehensive file handling capabilities. Integration with the simultaneously launched SDL MultiTerm 2007 provides powerful terminology lookup and search functions to ensure adherence to corporate terminology and dramatically reduce translation time.

Existing and new translations can be more easily reviewed and cleansed using the enhanced batch-mode QA checking in SDL Trados 2007 SP2. New built-in translation and terminology checks have been added and any number of user-defined checks can be set up to search for particular quality criteria. With corporate terminology constantly evolving, these checks substantially reduce the time and cost of maintaining high-quality, consistent translation memories.

With SDL Trados 2007 SP2 the ability to work seamlessly within the Translation Supply Chain has never been easier.   • SDL Trados 2007 works with all major file formats no matter what your clients provide, including HTML, XML, SGML, XLIFF, Interleaf/Quicksilver, Microsoft® Word**, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint®, OpenOffice, StarOffice, Clipboard, Adobe® PageMaker6.5, Adobe InDesign CS®, Adobe FrameMaker® 7.x and 8.x, Adobe and a multitude of new file formats including InDesign CS2 and CS3, QuarkXPress 6.x/7.x (via CopyFlow from Napsys*), and Generic delimited text files.

System Requirements

  • SDL Trados 2007 runs on Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 Server.

  • Windows Vista or Windows XP is recommended for optimum performance.

  • PC with Pentium III or compatible processor (Pentium IV or higher recommended).

  • 512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended) on Windows 2000/Windows XP Home/Windows XP Professional/Windows Vista.

  • Currently, 64-bit operating systems such as Windows Vista 64-bit are not supported by SDL Trados products.

 

* QuarkXPress 7 files, including Unicode encoded files, are now full supported in both SDL Trados and SDLX through the third-party application CopyFlow from Napsys. ** When accessing SDL Translator's Workbench 8.x from within Microsoft Word 2007, performance issues may occur that cause slow navigation from segment to segment when using the Set/Close Next Open/Get or Translate to Fuzzy commands. SDL has escalated this issue to Microsoft who have confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Word 2007. As a workaround until a fix is available, SDL recommends using Microsoft Word 2003 or translating Microsoft Word .doc and .docx files in SDL Trados TagEditor. SDL will inform the SDL Trados 2007 user base when a fix is available from Microsoft.
