Alpha CRC incorporated in 1987, is a privately owned, specialist localization and translation company with production and sales offices around the globe - Alpha’s clients include some of the world’s largest and most successful software, IT, games and lifescience companies.
With large internal teams in translation, DTP, QA, testing and Project Management Alpha has developed into a technologically advanced organization, and will be running TMS alongside a number of other enterprise Global Information Management systems.
One of Alpha’s key features is a dedication to best practice in production, using the best available technology to help large, dedicated language teams remain optimally placed to produce high-quality translation most efficiently, and therefore at least cost.
This has led Alpha to be early adopters of a wide range of desktop and server based products in cases where Alpha has objectively identified the value and quality of the technology.
Every decision at Alpha CRC is made in the best interests of its clients – and being able to deploy and support the client’s choice of technology is fundamentally important to those decisions. Consequently Alpha has integrated hundreds of software tools and systems into its processes.
Alpha has also partnered many providers of these tools and systems (Microsoft, SDL Trados, Lotus, Idiom) and has been active in the development groups organised by these companies to improve their product in relation to localization and translation.
Many of Alpha’s key enterprise clients actively use Global Management Systems to facilitate their production, because of this Alpha is heavily involved in the use of those server-based products within its own production. Alpha has more than 5 years’ experience in Idiom World Server, being the first localization company in the world to work with WorldServer for translation purposes. Alpha also has vast experience in GXT (formerly Uniscape and then Trados).
To further support a number of corporations in its client base, and for internal deployment as required, Alpha CRC has recently acquired a full version of SDL’s TMS. This qualifies Alpha to join the SDL partner programme at Premier level. Alpha is looking forward to the opportunity to help influence the development of the desktop translation solutions at a deep level. With so many in-house, full-time translators Alpha has much to contribute, as well as benefit from working alongside SDL in this endeavour. www.alphacrc.com
